Wild Bee Hostel

Wild Bee Hostel is a luxury eco-hostel cabin nestled in the heart of the beautiful Ella community & jungle. Just like the honey bee, we built our hives on the higher landscapes of Ella; bringing everything to the land by hand and requiring tireless and rigorous hard work from our team. The hostel hives have been built with the intention of immersing with the surrounding flora & fauna and offering some of the most jaw dropping, panoramic views of the mountainous Ella. The location is a short walk to Ella town, however the way the cabins have been built allow our guests to feel some isolation, privacy and an escape from the busyness of everyday life.
We currently have 30 beds available spread between 5 luxury dormitories ( two Upper 7 beds dorms and two Lower 6 bed dorms and one 4 beds female dorm). We say luxury because we have thought out the spaces, comfortability, amenities and facilities to the max to ensure our guests get the best experience during their trip to Ella. The dorms are equipped with:

• Extremely comfortable beds .
• Microfiber blankets & fresh linen to keep our guests snug during the cold Ella evenings.
• All beds are equipped with a night light & wall plug for charging needs.
• A storage cupboard is allocated to every bed to store guests travelling gear.
• Sleek & clean bathrooms with the best hot shower in Ella (the bathroom is shared in each dorm).
• Strong Wi-Fi that reaches both dorm rooms allowing our guests to stay connected.
• A balcony built from upcycled wood, offering some of the best views.
• Bean bags, low tables & sky beds used for lounging and making our guests feel relaxed and at home.

Relax in our beautiful Muruga Yoga Café, a cozy space filled with bean bags, low tables, and our custom-built couch — perfect for lounging, working, or enjoying a delicious meal.

All stays include breakfast, and we’re happy to accommodate any dietary requirements (just let us know in advance). Our café and bar are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and we welcome meal requests from our guests.

We also offer convenient on-site parking, and our friendly staff are always available to assist with any queries you may have.

Our hostel is really well located, but the land it is built on is still very rural and hilly so please keep this in mind as some intense walking is required. It is very easy to get a Tuk Tuk from town if you have a lot of luggage and is no longer than a 5 minute drive. Wild Bee Hostel is 200m from the Ella Spice Garden, 700m from the Ella Railway Station, 2.6km from Little Adams Peak, 3.6km from Ella Rock starting point, 4.6km from Demodara Nine Arch Bridge, 48km from Hakgala Botanical Garden & 49km from Horton Plains National Park.

At the moment, our dormitories are reserved exclusively for international travelers. We’re currently unable to accommodate domestic guests in shared dorm rooms
