No locks on room, no lockers, and no bunk curtains. The room smelt of weed and strong perfume/candles, and the bathroom was dirty when I arrived. I had read that there would be a gate at the property entrance, but the parking area is not actually fenced in so anyone can walk around the gate to access the property and parked vehicles. I didn’t feel safe to leave any items out. Seems like most people booked it as a last cheap resort rather than to use it as a respectable social hostel…

Had a fantastic time here staying in the private camper. The owner is absolutely lovely and extremely helpful. The property is also close to the Marta line which is perfect to get to the stadium (was here for the world cup). Would happily stay here again.

With such an important past, Atlanta is the perfect place for history buffs to delve into museums and visit consequential monuments.

Hostels in Atlanta are a great place to stay if you are looking to meet like-minded travellers from all around the world. Make sure to look at the free activities that your Atlanta hostel offers and ask at the reception for tips on where to eat some proper local food for cheap (like hostellers do!). Also, be sure to make the most of the free breakfast to make your trip as budget friendly as possible.

The Atlanta metropolitan area has an eclectic assortment of neighbourhoods that are full of everything from Victorian architecture and mansions to trendy bars, street art, and tattoo shops. There’s also a ton of greenspace throughout the city, including Westside Reservoir Park to the west, Atlanta Botanical Garden to the east, the Central Centennial Park, and Atlanta Memorial Park. Each neighbourhood has a unique feel and will offer a completely different experience.

Atlanta is a city that you visit for the impressive (and quirky!) museums. The Center for Civil and Human Rights, which includes a continually rotating Martin Luther King Jr. exhibit, is a must-see. For something a little lighter, check out the World of Coca-Cola museum to learn all about the world’s most famous soft drink. If you fancy a live performance, look into what’s playing at the Fox Theatre!

Getting around Atlanta is made easy by a network of buses and streets cars. The MARTA bus system runs throughout the Atlanta Metropolitan Area and has affordable fares, travel passes (MARTA Passes), and Breeze cards to help you get from point A to B. MARTA also operates four rail lines throughout Atlanta that are a great alternative depending on where your final destination is. Atlanta has taxis and rideshare services that are another great way to get around for longer trips, but there are also many walkable neighbourhoods and the Atlanta BeltLine has become a great place to go for a bike ride.
