Wake up to the sounds of the jungle and the Caribbean Sea. At Oasis Beachfront Hostel it’s common to spot sloths, monkeys, iguanas, frogs, and tropical birds right in our garden while staying just steps from the beach and close to the famous Salsa Brava surf break.

Oasis is a relaxed and social hostel where travelers from all over the world come together to share stories, meet new friends, and enjoy the pura vida lifestyle. Relax in a hammock in the garden, read from our shared book exchange, challenge new friends to a board game, or kick a football around. It’s the perfect place to unwind after a day exploring the Caribbean coast.

Guests have access to a fully equipped kitchen, fridge, free Wi-Fi, parking, camping areas, laundry service, and clean showers and bathrooms. Free coffee is available in the morning. We offer a variety of accommodation options including dorms, private rooms, camping spots, and a cozy cabin with its own porch.

Our location makes Oasis the perfect base for exploring Puerto Viejo de Talamanca. Surfers love being close to Salsa Brava, and from reception we can help organize local experiences such as cacao tours, surf lessons, and shuttles to Bocas del Toro.

Our team is always happy to help with tips and recommendations to make your stay unforgettable. Warning: you might spend more time watching sloths than checking your phone.

Absolutely loved staying at Oasis! All of the volunteers were so kind & helpful, & the owner was great as well! Great location, easy to get to town & even easier to get to the beach! The wildlife was incredible, I saw two sloths during the stay, as well as monkeys & other wildlife. The vibe was super chill & I enjoyed a rustic experience, would definitely return! Thank you Oasis!!

Epic stay with an amazing location it’s right on the beach and in town. There’s a nice common area and the kitchen is in great condition and has everything you need (which really helps considering eating out in puerto viejo is so dang expensive!) it’s a chill vibe and great place to meet other travelers.

Very friendly staff who let me extend my stay for a night last-minute and gave me a tent which was very kind! Great location literally metres from the beach, good kitchen facilities and very reasonable price, especially considering the location.
