Kulenga Village is serene space perfectly located in the heart of Monkey Bay which serves as a hostel and artist residency. We love explorers, nomads and artists.

We are perfectly located for you to explore the vibrant town of Monkey Bay. A short 5 minute walk through the vivid Masasa Village will take you to a beautiful beach along lake Malawi.

Kulenga Village Policy and Conditions:

Cancellation policy: 24h before arrival. In case of a late cancellation or No Show, you will be charged the first night of your stay.

Staff was unorganized. When I arrived they said hostel world and booking were not accurate, they had no rooms available. be aware when you go, you might get turned away. also they will charge you to use their kitchen, I've never experienced this before.

We had a couple of great rest days at Kulenga Village. The staff is friendly, Gift was especially helpful during our time there, answering any questions and requests we had. The food is good, especially the wood fired pizza. The property is not on the beach but it a short walk away. Would definitely recommend.

Quiet place not to far away from the ferry station. I visited during rainy season and there were no other guests but the staff made me feel very welcome and helped me to organise a minibus to Blantyre that even picked me up at the hostel. There is a very nice garden with a lot if places in the shade. The beach is a 5-10min walk away and goes trough the local village.
