La Chamba Surf House: Our Home for Surf and Slow Living in Santa Catalina 🌊✨
Welcome to our little surf house in the heart of Santa Catalina, Panama.
We’re based in a peaceful beach town known for its consistent waves, warm community, and raw natural beauty. At La Chamba, we’ve created a home for surfers and travelers from all over the world. It’s a space where connections happen naturally, but there’s also space to enjoy some quiet time if that’s what you’re looking for.
We offer five private rooms that can accommodate up to 3–4 people, as well as an 11-bed dorm designed with comfort and privacy in mind, all our rooms are equipped with air conditioning, ensuring a cool and restful night’s sleep. Guests in the dorm share a clean outdoor bathroom with 4 toilets and 4 showers. Our shared outdoor kitchen is fully equipped, and there’s plenty of space to eat, relax, and connect with other travellers from all over the world. Soon, we’ll be opening a bar to make those sunset evenings even better.
We’re just a 5 minutes walk from Playa Santa Catalina, and about 15 minutes from Playa El Estero, ideal for either experienced surfers or those just learning. Everything you need is close by: cafés, grocery stores, pharmacies, and local restaurants are all within easy walking distance.
Our hostel is also a great starting point for day trips to Coiba National Park, one of the best places in Central America for snorkeling and diving. Depending on the season, you might catch glimpses of dolphins, sea turtles, reef sharks, or even humpback whales.
To us, La Chamba is more than just a place to stay, it’s where we slow down, share stories, and reconnect with what really matters. Whether you're here for the surf, the nature, or a bit of both, we’ll be happy to welcome you to our little corner of the Pacific.
