Chameleon Backpackers Hostel was established in 1995 and was one of the first backpacker hostels in Namibia. As our name suggests, we have been adapting to the ever-changing needs of our travellers to offer the best possible accommodation in Windhoek.

Run by a dynamic team, Chameleon Backpackers is a haven for young Namibians eager to enter the tourism industry and welcome you in Namibian style. Catering to travellers across all age groups, from solo backpackers, volunteers, to families and couples, all looking for a home away from home while in Windhoek.

Chameleon offers Windhoek’s best backpacker lodge experience sustainably, using solar power, water and waste recycling systems, and putting a significant focus on uplifting Namibians, including our staff and our local communities.

Situated in Windhoek, 800 metres from Warehouse Theatre, Chameleon Backpackers & Guesthouse features accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden, pool table and a shared lounge. 1.5 km from Alte Feste Museum and 1.7 km from National Museum of Namibia ACRE, the hostel provides a bar and barbecue facilities. The hostel offers evening entertainment and a shared kitchen.

Certain rooms have a kitchen with a fridge, an oven and a microwave.

The hostel offers a FREE buffet-style continental breakfast for all guests!

Chameleon Backpackers Policy and Conditions:

Cancellation policy: 4 days before arrival. In case of a late cancellation or No Show, you will be charged the first night of your stay.

Check in from 14:00 to 22:00 .
Check out from 04:00 to 10:00 .

Payment upon arrival by credit and debit cards.
