DAS VIERTEL is more than just a place to stay – it's a statement.

Our hostel is a place for all those who travel consciously, want to exchange ideas with others and are looking for a special experience. The VIERTEL was born out of the desire to write a new chapter for forgotten spaces: Using vacancies creatively, giving new life to old materials, turning ideas into places.

We believe that community, sustainability and creativity are the building blocks for a future worth living. That's why we decided to work with what's already there: reclaimed wood, old windows, flea market finds, supposed scrap metal – and a lot of passion. Every piece in our VIERTEL has a story. Let's write it together.

Really cool place - great concept and amazing location in the heart of Freiburg. Privacy curtains in the shared rooms were good, but the rooms did get very hot during the night when everyone was in them (it was a heat wave) - I think possibly some ventilation issues to the bottom bunks as there was an air flow inlet but having curtains closed and top bunks in the way of airflow meant they got very hot.
