This street runs along the ancient Camino Real (the royal road) - it was already here before Puebla was officially founded in 1531. One of the city's very first streets, it buzzed with early mesones and trade routes, with the famous Meson del Cristo right across the street.
The house holds 500+ years of history: occupied by U.S. troops during the Battle of 5 de Mayo era (1847), resilient through the French invasion (1863) when Emperor Maximilian and Carlota passed nearby at the Hostal de Velasco, and just one block behind the house where the Serdan brothers sparked the Mexican Revolution in 1910. -Payment on arrival: cash, credit/debit cards
A small bank processing fee of approximately 4.2% (3.6% + 16% IVA) applies to card payments. Cash payments have no extra fee. Taxes included.
