Restopbay – Madiha

Welcome to Restopbay — Not party hostel, your chill, social surf hostel in Madiha, right on Sri Lanka’s South Coast. We’re all about good vibes, new friends, great waves, and memorable evenings.

We have four air-conditioned dorms: three mixed and one female-only. Beds come with comfy bedding, lockers, charging points, reading lights, and mosquito repellent. Towels can be rented, laundry is available, and breakfast not included.

Our communal space has comfy seating, a football table, board games, and a dedicated work area — perfect for relaxing or catching up on work.

Madiha Beach is just a short walk away, with reef breaks for intermediate and advanced surfers, and beginner-friendly waves at Polhena and Mirissa. Surf lessons and board rentals are available — just chat with our friendly team.

Doctor’s House parties happen every Wednesday and Saturday, and we organize group trips with discounted tickets. Guests love joining the fun, dancing under the coconut trees, and experiencing one of the South Coast’s most iconic beach parties.

Off the beach, enjoy snorkeling with turtles, baby turtle releases, or visit the local turtle hatchery. We can also arrange snorkeling tours, boat safaris, whale-watching, safaris to Yala or Udawalawe, ancient temple visits, waterfalls, and more — all bookable at reception.

We also host Sri Lankan cooking lessons and rice & curry nights, where you learn local dishes and share a communal meal with fellow guests.

Restopbay attracts surfers, backpackers, and digital nomads, and is especially welcoming for solo female travelers with our female-only dorm, friendly staff, and safe neighborhood. Scooters, tuk-tuks, taxis, and secure parking are all easy to arrange.

With easy access to Mirissa, Matara, Weligama, and beyond, Restopbay is the perfect base to surf by day, explore by afternoon, and enjoy lively evenings.

Quiet Hours: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM (but the rooftop bar keeps the good vibes going earlier in the evening 🛌🛌🛌
