These booking and sales terms and conditions govern the relationship between “QG Marseille” and the recipient(s) of the services or “customer(s)” with effect from 20 October 2023.
ARTICLE 2 - Booking Procedures
2.1. Booking Request
Customers of QG Marseille are expressly required to familiarise themselves with these general terms and conditions of sale and the house rules when making a booking request. Bookings can be made by telephone, by email or via our online booking system. A personalised quote can also be sent on request, detailing the services provided.
Additional services (free or paid) must be requested at the time of booking: breakfast, packed lunches, air conditioning in the room, twin beds, parking and baby equipment, laundry service or room hire. Last-minute requests will be accommodated subject to QG Marseille’s availability.
FUAJ members are asked to provide their membership date and membership card number when making a booking. Membership is not a requirement for making a booking.
All guests staying at QG Marseille must be named at the time of booking; guests other than those specifically named at the time of booking will not be admitted without prior written authorisation from the manager of QG Marseille.
2.2. Terms and conditions for changes and cancellations
All bookings are subject to change
Any changes to a booking must be requested in writing (by post or email) to QG Marseille. Requests for an additional room or bed will be accepted subject to availability at the establishment, with no additional administration fees. A change to remove a room and/or a bed from the original booking will be considered a partial cancellation and will be charged, where applicable, on a pro rata basis in accordance with the cancellation terms, but will not affect the rest of your booking.
A change to the names of guests without altering the number of guests is possible free of charge: this must simply be notified to QG Marseille before the start of the stay.
All bookings are cancellable
A full refund of the deposit paid will be issued for cancellations made up to 30 days before your arrival, with the exception of group bookings for the entire house (5 bedrooms, with or without the activity room), in which case the deposit paid will be retained. If the rooms are re-let during the period in question, a pro-rata or full refund will be issued. If the booking was made less than 30 days before your arrival, 50% of the total booking cost will be charged for cancellations made up to 10 days before your arrival. After this point, the full amount of the booking will be charged. Please note: no-shows will be treated as cancellations.
Any modification or cancellation of the booking must be made in writing, either by post addressed to QG Marseille - 42 Impasse Davin - 13015 Marseille, or by email. The customer must ensure that their correspondence is received within the specified timeframes; QG Marseille cannot be held responsible for any correspondence not received.
QG Marseille reserves the right to cancel a booking in the event of force majeure, if safety conditions so require, or in the event of a normally unforeseeable occurrence. QG Marseille will then issue a full refund to the customer(s) concerned. Where possible, QG Marseille will offer the customer(s) concerned alternative dates of stay at preferential rates.
2.3. Rates
Booking directly with QG Marseille allows customers to benefit from the most competitive rates and to receive advice prior to booking if required. Bookings can be made by telephone, by email, or via our online booking system. A personalised quote can also be sent on request, detailing the services provided.
QG Marseille is listed on various booking platforms.
QG Marseille reserves the right to correct prices displayed on the various platforms when booking online, in the event of an obvious material error, resulting in particular from a computer bug.
Prices have been calculated as accurately as possible, taking into account the economic conditions known at the time the marketing materials were produced. These prices, provided for information purposes only, may be subject to adjustment when the booking contract is drawn up.
It is also agreed that QG Marseille may pass on any changes in fees and taxes to its customers. It is also specified that the customer shall be liable for any new tax(es) or charge(s) relating to the services provided that may be introduced by French or foreign laws and regulations. This applies, in particular, to tourist taxes, the amounts of which vary depending on the local authority. These taxes will be included in the price of the stay when the booking contract is drawn up. They may be revised upwards or downwards at any time by the relevant authorities. However, in accordance with current legislation, the price may only be revised no later than twenty (20) days before the start date of the stay. Furthermore, in the event of a price increase of more than eight per cent (8%), the customer has the option to refuse the change and terminate the contract. Where the member chooses to terminate the contract, in this specific instance only, they are entitled to a full refund of all sums paid without incurring any penalties or charges. Notice of termination must then be given to QG Marseille by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt within seven (7) days of QG Marseille issuing the relevant information. Currently, the tourist tax in Marseille is €1.09 per night for each adult, with the exception of those receiving emergency accommodation or temporary rehousing, or holders of a seasonal employment contract working in the municipality.
2.4. Payment terms
Bookings are confirmed once a deposit of 30% of the price of the booked services has been paid into QG Marseille’s account and the booking confirmation has been sent back by QG Marseille. The customer must pay the full cost of their booking at least 10 days before their arrival date. Failure to pay within the specified time frame will be treated as a cancellation. Withdrawals are considered cancellations.
QG Marseille accepts last-minute bookings subject to availability.
Any stay that has commenced is payable in full. The full amount must be paid before arrival at the premises; otherwise, QG Marseille reserves the right not to accommodate the customer.
If you wish to use additional services on site, payment must be made in cash. Accepted payment methods: cash, cheques, credit cards, instant bank transfers and holiday vouchers (ANVV). QG Marseille does not cover any transfer or currency exchange fees.
A pre-authorisation for 40% of the total order amount is taken for each booking and may be used in the event of a minor issue.
2.5. Information required
The customer must provide the contact details of the persons staying at QG Marseille at least 10 days before the arrival date, failing which the booking will be cancelled: surname, first name, email address, telephone number and a copy of both sides of a valid identity document valid during the stay. The customer declares that they are over 18 years of age or are accompanied.
This information will remain confidential to QG Marseille (in accordance with the GDPR) but may prove useful in the event of force majeure. Customers who fail to comply with these terms and conditions will be held liable.
No persons other than those named on the booking will be admitted to the premises without the prior written consent of the manager of QG Marseille. In the event of non-compliance with this point, QG Marseille shall be entitled to order the said persons and the guest(s) to leave the premises without any compensation and without any refund for the current stay. Additional penalties may also be applied.
Useful information is sent to the guest by email a few days before the arrival date: a reminder of QG Marseille’s reception hours and directions to the hostel. QG Marseille is also available to answer any questions from its guests by email and telephone.
