Welcome to Umbral – a peaceful boutique guesthouse in the heart of Tepoztlán.

Umbral is a beautifully restored adobe house with more than 100 years of history, thoughtfully transformed into a warm and welcoming space where travelers can slow down, rest and experience the authentic spirit of Tepoztlán.

With only four private rooms, Umbral offers an intimate atmosphere that feels more like staying in a beautiful home than in a traditional hostel. It is the perfect place for solo travelers, couples and digital nomads looking for comfort, quiet surroundings and meaningful experiences.

All rooms are private, while the bathrooms are shared. We have two shared bathrooms that are professionally cleaned every day to ensure a comfortable and pleasant stay for everyone.

A light artisan breakfast is included every morning, featuring freshly baked artisan bread, seasonal fruit, specialty Mexican coffee made with carefully selected beans, butter, homemade jam, and a selection of teas. It’s the perfect way to begin your day before discovering the magic of Tepoztlán.

Located in the heart of town, Umbral is within walking distance of cafés, restaurants, artisan markets and the trail to El Tepozteco, while offering a peaceful retreat to return to after a day of exploring.
