About
WELCOME TO PUÉMAPE
Puémape is a small community in northern Perú, located in the Jequetepeque Valley. Fishing is a fundamental part of the local culture, and an important tradition is the use of the 'Caballito de Totora'.
In short, Puémape embodies tranquility — a perfect place to rest and breathe. It stands out as one of the main attractions of the Pacasmayo province, which consists of five districts: San Pedro de Lloc (the provincial capital), Pacasmayo, San José, Guadalupe, and Jequetepeque. Most of the year, the local climate is warm.
THE FIRST AND NO WASTE HOSTEL
We do not consider ourselves an Eco Hostel just because we are located on the beach or because our architecture is made of adobe (water, earth, and straw). What makes us an ecological space is our way of living on a day-to-day basis: where we promote participatory management where we all assume the environmental co-responsibility of the house (since 2021).
Our vision goes beyond sleeping, paying, and leaving; in this experience you will live a living learning center and shared values, which begins from the guest’s check-in with the induction about the zero-waste stay, and culminates with the farewell. Here you will leave behind the role of a passive tourist who only seeks to be served and assume the leading role of your own impact, becoming another guardian of Puémape (sustainable and regenerative tourism).
“However, despite being the only alternative of its kind in Puémape and making a great effort in the face of tourists accustomed to consuming without getting involved and the conventional hotel model, we have no expectations; we simply want consumers to have the opportunity to discover new alternatives and become aware through the experience of their stay (Eco Hostel).”
For some, it will be the great discovery where the journey and decisions take on meaning, and for others, it will be just another experience in the itinerary. What still encourages us is that there is always the possibility that the tourist leaves here with a new way of walking, which will transform their footprints when it comes to consuming.”
Dear travelers, the responsibility is yours in every destination, and make your visit help the place and its people prosper.
During the stay includes: Wi-Fi (150 mbps), hot shower, fully equipped kitchen and mountain bikes. Every guest is welcomed with a healthy dessert.
