About

In Tehuelches mothertongue, the word 'Aylen' means 'ember' and 'Aike' means 'place'. Aylen-Aike is a 'warm place'.

Our hostel has a great panoramic view, from which you can see the hill by itself, the Torre (Tower) hill, the Del Bosque (Forest) range and the grand Fitz Roy.

Aylen-Aike is located by the riverside -De las Vueltas- having access to the small forest of ires a type of beech on its slope, and at the front, a wall made up of the mountain range of the Condors.

El Chaltn is a place with glaciers, mountains, rivers, forests, and with the giant Fitz of all times at the front. Patagonia and specially El Chaltn are places to visit, admire, love and respect, places to contact nature and feel really pleased... and to listen to the wind.

Amazing hostel for solo hikers! Sebastian (the host) is great and the atmosphere was very friendly for finding people to chat with at the end of the day or to organise hikes together. Totally recommended!

Great hostel with good facilities, the rooms get cleaned every day and the beds are made as well. Sebastian the owner has great tips for all the hikes in the area and is really invested in his guests having a good time. It is in a convenient location close to the main street and the bus terminal. The showers are really good and you get a free towel too. I had a great time and definitely recommend choosing this hostel for your stay in El Chalten.

Great hostel for people wanting to do hiking in El Chalten. The hostel has a cosy feel, kitchen has everything you need including two ovens and the showers are great! Free towels too! We also love Sebastian! He knows everything about the area (as he’s been running the hostel for circa 20 years) and is extremely helpful.
