Welcome to Lake View Hostel, the first backpackers' hostel located an hour and a half from Medellin along the shores of La Represa de Guatape (Lake Guatape). Only a few minutes walk from the plaza mayor of the pueblo of Guatape, we are ideally situated to enjoy both the quaint town itself as well as all the outdoor activities in the area.
We would like to inform our clients and guests that currently, due to the meteorological phenomenon known as "El Niño," we do not have a direct view of the lake, despite our name, as the water level has dropped in recent months. We still offer a very beautiful view from our establishment and continue to provide all our water activities since the lake is quite large and there is still plenty of water; it's just that the level has decreased in our area. This situation will soon be resolved with the rains in September and the arrival of "La Niña," the opposite phenomenon of El Niño, which will bring a lot of rain in the coming months. We apologize in advance and want to clarify that we will not be changing the name of the hostel due to a temporary phenomenon that has occurred only about three times in the last 15 years. We appreciate your understanding!
