Start from 2005, we build our first home right by the rice terrace, we are perfectly emerged with nature. No matter on the rooftop, restaurant or just in your warm bed, you can always feel the nature’s endless changing. Here we plant the flowers, grow the vegetables, breed the chickens, do the cooking, signing and playing instrument. While offering you comfortable stay we live our life here. We try our best to live with nature, creating a space which is responsible for nature. We use enzyme to replace chemical washing, implement garbage segregation to recycle the valuable waste, use solar power to offer hot shower. We are expecting you to come here to enjoy life with us and find your own world.

Join us in enjoying the beauty of mother-earth – eat from our organic farm, indulge with the wonderful scenery, find your own paradise within our huge open space, and experience the harmony among our friendly domestic animal friends.

Our mountain view rooms offers amazing sunrise view (sometimes rainbows too) emerging right from the rice terraces. Neat dorm beds for budget travellers.

GREEN living: we believe in sustainability and have our own little ecosystem, compost, recycle centre etc.; we also lead local children in cleaning up the neighbourhood, and;
EDUCATION: we provide free education to local children who lack access to school or those who want to learn English. We recruit overseas volunteers and provide them with lodge and food.

The whole area is having building work done and so a bit chaotic BUT lucine who owns the sunny guest house could not have made our stay any more enjoyable. He is such a kind big hearted and fun person and nothing is too much trouble. We think his place , the setting and he as a person are all amazing. We spent 2 days walking and then teamed up with him and a couple of French guys and spent the day driving back through the hills Kunming, stopping on route at tourist spots. Wonderful

Cute guesthouse with super friendly owner and host. Make sure you have cell phone service as we had to call him when we arrived in the village to come get us otherwise there’s no way we would have found it on our own through the village. The views are amazing and the food was some of the best of our whole trip. There is A TON of remodeling being done right now though so I don’t suggest going here until it’s finished (maybe Oct. 2018 or later).

The yuanyang rice terraces are stunning and the hostel has a great vantage point on them! There are currently quite a lot of renovations going on in the village and in the hostel but the hostel ones are due to be completed within a month and the host went out of his way to compensate - upgrading my room (which was clean) and putting on a family style dinner (which was very tasty!)
