About

El Diablo Hostel - A cozy cauldron of comfort in the heart of Belgrade!

We’re El Diablo - an old-school small hostel with a big heart, and a grumpy cats, made for backpackers and world explorers. This is our little home, and while you’re here, it’s yours too.

What’s the vibe?
Think: homey, warm, a little quirky, and full of character - right in the city center, with just 4 rooms and 20 beds. That means there’s space to connect, breathe, and feel like you belong. We’re all about good energy, great chats, and helping you experience the real Belgrade. We know where the magic happens, and we love to share.

House rules? Simple but sacred:
Be tidy, respectful, civilized, and considerate. Let others sleep, share the space like it’s your grandma’s living room, and keep the energy kind. We protect the vibe here - it’s what makes this place feel like home.

Check-in & Creature Comforts
Check-in starts at 14:00, but if you arrive early - leave your luggage, stretch your legs, and come back later to settle in. Our reception opens at 08:00 and it is not possible to enter before that time!
Check-out is at 11:00 a.m. - but you can leave your luggage to collect it later!
Beds are made and waiting, with a locker and a free towel.
Free, fast Wi-Fi (naturally), and there’s a book exchange and board games if you feel like nesting indoors for a while.

Reception - Need anything?
Whether it’s local tips, help with your plans, or just a spontaneous chat about travel or cats - we’re never far. Friendly assistance flows freely here (like tea and good vibes). We may not pop out of thin air, but we do appear when needed. Kindness opens doors.

Yes, you can cook!
Our kitchen is perfect for a quick bite, a budget meal, or a simple potion .

The rooftop terrace? A dream.
Our rooftop is full of plants, flowers, and just the right amount of charm. Perfect for coffee, journaling, chat, or doing absolutely nothing at all.

Laundry service is available for a modest fee - because even witches run out of clean socks.

A few important notes from the spellbook:
- We’re in a residential building, so respect is non-negotiable. Keep the volume low, especially after 10 p.m. - both for our neighbors’ sake and for the peaceful souls resting here.
- We are not a party hostel. Like, not even a little! We’re a cozy home for curious minds, not a disco in disguise.
- Please inform us of your ARRIVAL TIME - this is VERY IMPORTANT.
- While we mostly host younger travelers, if you're over 50 and young at heart, you're warmly welcome - as long as you're cool with a crowd that may occasionally speak in memes.
- This is a non-smoking hostel but we have designated space for smoking.

Practical magic (aka Payment & Cancellation Info):
- Payment is cash only, upon arrival (Serbian dinars).
- City tax is RSD 160 per night, not included in the price.
- Cancellations made less than 24 hours before arrival will be charged for the first night.
- The property may request advance payment. If declined, we reserve the right to cancel your booking.
- If you’re arriving between midnight and 7 a.m., book the previous night to be sure your bed is ready – but again, INFORM US OF YOUR ARRIVAL TIME!
- We only hold your bed for 2 hours after your stated arrival time, so if you're delayed, just send a raven (or, you know, a message).

All the essentials? Right outside.
You won’t need a treasure map. Supermarkets, ATMs, currency exchange, 24/7 bakeries, fast food joints, and a big local farmers’ market are all within a few steps. Bohemian Skadarlija street - with its famous traditional restaurants - is just around the corner. The main square is a 5-minute stroll away, and most landmarks are within 10 minutes on foot. Belgrade’s best bars and clubs? Practically on your broomstick's path.

El Diablo Hostel is a warm nest for the wandering soul. It’s not perfect. But it’s full of stories, soft lighting, real humans, and just the right amount of magic. If that sounds like your kind of place, come in - we’ve been expecting you.

I never write reviews, but the guys that run this place our first class. It's very clean. I always feel safe. They are just lovely people. Don't come here if you are a party animal. It's quiet at night. They are very helpful. It's my second year returning to this hostel. I can't say enough nice things about these people. Oh...the best part is the two cats. Yes! They have two very friendly and playful cats. The building and rooms inside are just beautiful. It's also very LGBQT friendly. 5 stars!

Great hostel, very clean, quiet and still in central spot. Relaxed atmosphere as there are not many beds/people. A/C in the rooms, just a great place to escape parties and noise.

Third time here and it still feels like coming back to old friends. Great location, calm atmosphere, friendly people and of course the cats, who are probably the real owners of this place. 😄 Stayed only 2 nights this time, but it was not enough. I will definitely come back again. Highly recommend!
