which is exactly what tends to happen here.

Important:

Before arrival, we place a pre-authorisation (hold) for the remaining balance of your first night to help prevent fraud. This is separate from payment to Hostelworld, so you must have sufficient funds available and may need to also approve this transaction when booking. If the hold fails and cannot be resolved before arrival, we cannot guarantee your bed or room. The hold is released on arrival, and we then charge the full remaining balance.
