Here is the latest update regarding our hostel and regional transit:

Guest & Team Safety: All guests and team members at Kiwi Backpackers Hostel in Pokhara are safe and well accounted for.

Pokhara–Kathmandu Route: The main highway connecting Kathmandu and Pokhara is currently closed due to landslides. While the primary route is blocked, alternative overland routes and domestic flights are available.

Chitwan & Lumbini Routes: Roads remain open, and bus services to both destinations are fully operational from Pokhara.

Travel Assistance: If you need help checking route conditions, finding alternative routes, or arranging transport to/from Kathmandu, please speak with reception or message us directly.

Welcome to Kiwi Backpackers Hostel Pokhara, a friendly and social backpacker hostel located in the heart of Lakeside, Pokhara. It’s a place where travelers from around the world meet, share stories, find trekking partners, and plan unforgettable adventures in the Himalayas.

Our mornings begin with a relaxed backpacker breakfast, where guests gather over fresh coffee, exchange travel tips, and often end up planning treks together. From our rooftop terrace, you can enjoy one of the best sunrise views of the Annapurna mountain range. Watching the early morning light touch the Himalayas while the city slowly wakes up is a truly special way to start the day.

To begin the morning with positive energy, we also offer a daily paid rooftop yoga class, where guests can stretch, breathe, and enjoy the peaceful mountain atmosphere.

One of the highlights of Kiwi is our rooftop bar, complete with hammocks and a beautiful sunset viewing area. It’s the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring Pokhara, enjoy a drink, watch the sun go down and the magic of sunset colors light up the mountains, and share travel stories with fellow backpackers.

Kiwi Backpackers Hostel is also an ideal base for exploring the Annapurna region. We organize group treks departing almost daily, guided by experienced male and female trekking guides who know the mountains and local culture deeply. Whether you choose Poon Hill, Mardi Himal, Annapurna Base Camp, Annapurna/Manaslu Circuit or other beautiful routes, our guides help you experience the Himalayas safely while learning about the traditions and lifestyle of the mountain communities.

We take care of all the logistics for your trek, including trekking permits, transportation, accommodation in traditional tea houses, and trekking gear rental if needed. Our team is always happy to provide honest advice and help you prepare for your Himalayan adventure.

For travelers looking for more excitement, we can also arrange paragliding, white-water rafting, bungee jumping, and other adventure activities around Pokhara.
