Left Bank

Left Bank is a former bank building that has been lovingly restored.

Our property now boasts an all-day restaurant, 5 ensuite boutique hotel rooms, and a unique 11-bed backpacker dorm. Hostel guests can make use of a small but perfectly-formed shared kitchen and seating area, new bathroom facilities, free WiFi, tea & coffee. Each bed comes with a fresh bottom sheet, pillow & pillowcase. Additional bedding is available to hire.

Left Bank is located in Kaikohe, which is the central pivot of Te Ara Coast to Coast Highway and the Twin Coast Cycle Trail. Within 50km are attractions such as the beautiful Bay of Islands, Waipoua Forest with its giant Kauri trees, Hokianga Harbor and its sand hills, and two natural hot springs. The main local attraction in Kaikohe is the pioneer village, which includes several historic buildings– NZ’s oldest courthouse, an 1875 cottage, a jail, and a school. You’ll also see Maori artefacts, gum-digging equipment, and more!
