About
Tolarno Hotel is not just another Hotel. Tolarno has a history. Established by the wonderful artist Mirka Mora and her husband after fleeing Poland during World War II, it quickly became one of St Kilda's most spirited locations throughout the ’70s and ’80s and was frequented by all the wild and wonderful characters of the area!
Today, each room in the iconic hotel showcases spectacular and quirky art pieces that create a distinct and memorable vibe throughout each room. Not only is Tolarno St Kilda filled with local stories and fantastic creative works, but it is located in the centre of Melbourne’s most vibrant destination, just a stone’s throw away from the CBD.
The room centres around a focal art piece and signature furniture making each one fun, distinctive and beautifully idiosyncratic. Each room tells a story of the culture and history of the hotel and the area itself.
Of all the St Kilda hotels, we offer a truly one-of-a-kind experience for travellers. Our rooms are more than just places to sleep — they encourage growth, creativity and imagination. We're proud to showcase incredible work from some of Australia’s most beloved artists, such as Sydney Nolan and Howard Arkley. We also offer a platform for up-and-coming artists to exhibit their pieces and excite the world, starting with our guests.
Regardless of your room or artistic inclination, every inch of our hotel will tickle your senses and inspire you to experience the wonders of Melbourne.
