About

The Arolithos Traditional Village Hotel occupies a cluster of buildings on the mountains outside Heraklion. Built in the late 80's, it has been purposely designed to reproduce an authentic Cretan village and much care has been taken to recreate the atmosphere of times gone by.

Dazzling white houses with pretty turquoise windows host several old-fashioned shops, including a blacksmith. In the bedrooms, modern amenities are cleverly blended with traditional. The local tavern organises Cretan nights with mouth-watering Greek food and folk dances.

Arolithos Hotel is a private property and is owned by the family of Mr. Saloustros.

Arolithos Traditional Cretan Village is situated 12kms outside the city of Heraklion and it represents a Cretan village or the 20th century. In the ''Village'' there is a hotel, a restaurant, a cafe, traditional houses and a folklore museum.
It offers 36 rooms with all the comfort: singles, doubles, triples.

In case of cancellation less than 7 days prior to your arrival till 14:00 Greek time or in case of non-show, the amount of the 1st night will be charged on your credit card.

It was a very cute hotel with an old fashioned vibe. There were lots of facilities on the property with many visitors during the day including a kids day trip to the museum. The museum was free for hotel patrons and well worth a visit. The beds were quite old (think spring mattresses) but everything was clean! Staff were very helpful and friendly. It was quiet except for the goat bells and meowing cats, quite a distance from Heraklion so you do need a car. Would recommend for the experience!

My bathroom shower wasn’t great (it was clean just the water temp was inconsistent and I had no where to put the shower head because it had broken) the bed was hard, the balcony was great with amazing views, I lovedddd the bell sounds of the sheep nearby, staff was so SO kind and wonderful, I just wish that the bathroom was a bit better. You *NEED A CAR* you’re far from town and taxis aren’t available typically. I think this space hosts weddings/events normally so for a solo traveller its no
