Adatto alle famiglie e situato in un ambiente splendido, questo edificio in stile Regency di grado II si affaccia sul tranquillo Esthwaite Water. Ideale per passeggiate a piedi e in bicicletta, la vicina Grizedale Forest offre anche alcune delle migliori escursioni in mountain bike del paese. Da qui è possibile esplorare anche i dintorni di Beatrix Potter, oltre ad avere un facile accesso alle colline meridionali e al lago Windermere. Found almost £100 a night rather expensive for a hostel sleeping in a bunk bed,although this was in a small private room. The location,the food and the staff were really great but the various buildings could certainly do with some renovations.

Having the member's kitchen way off from the main house (so that you can now have 2 dining rooms to serve the food you charge for) ruins the atmosphere of Community and Meeting others....plus the dining area is separate again from the kitchen. The whole new plan is not very well thought-out. Pity you felt you had to add Private Rooms and Tents and Yurts, and a proper kitchen and dining room to serve meals. thereby charging everybody much more.

Great place to meet like minded people, set in stunning surroundings. Great experience with the staff members. Fantastic value for money too, exceeded all the expectations. Cleansiness in bathrooms and toilets was sometimes a bit lacking but to be expected when so many people are sharing few facilities overall and limited staff playing many roles. That was perhaps the only downside.
