Maybe we came on the wrong day. The manager was quiet rude when we arrived as, he was over booked for the day. He wouldn’t let us check in at nearly 4pm and we had to come back at 6pm. He did upgrade us to a private room, which was rather cold and dirty with no western toilet. We did not feel comfortable to shower. If you really want to save money stay here, but otherwise look elsewhere!

Guiln m hostel is good value for money its close to the west Guilin train station so easy to walk to from there, maybe because it was out of season the main door was locked in the early morning so I felt I had to book the river cruise through the hostel so they would let me out early enough, but despite booking this cruise with the hostel they still did not open the main door for my transport early i made it to the cruise on time though
