Fabulous and welcoming hostel. The perfect launching pad for arriving in Tokyo. Excellent amenities. Looking forward to staying longer on our next visit.

Excellent location (just across Ueno station) and very friendly staff. As in most hostels in Japan you feel very safe. Rooms (and entrance at night) are locked by cardkey. I felt that the trashbins in the bathrooms did not get emptied enough. Maybe this was due to staff shortage during my stay. Showers and beds were excellent. The futon was comfortable enough for me, and I slept well. The AC was a bit too cold though since it was not that hot anymore.

The staff were great, location was good. Room was okay. I had a bad experience because I was in a small mixed dorm, I asked for mixed but it was all only men which would be fine but all these men were loud, messy and unhygienic. I would barely sleep as they would be banging around the room at 2am, all lights on. Most of them were burping and farting all the time, coughing and sneezing. I’m expecting il be ill in a few days. They left loads of rubbish behind and moved my suitcase around 4 time
