Pondok Permata is a lovely budget stay with an incredibly kind family. I felt very safe, and Ubud Centre was a 15–20 min Grab ride away (~13,000 IDR/$1). Breakfast is included, and the value is hard to beat. My room was clean with good A/C, but had little natural light, smelled damp, and didn’t match the photos. Hot water was inconsistent, toiletries were minimal, and it could be noisy.

A lovely home stay with a nice family. Shops and restaurants near by. A short walk down to Ubud central. The hosts are very good at organising tours and will drive you around for a good price. They even dropped us off at our next hotel! Thank you

This homestay was amazing. We had a really lovely time there. The room was great and super clean, and we loved having breakfast on the balcony, though it wasn’t super filling. The owners were super lovely and helped us out with everything we needed, including getting animals out of our room in the middle of the night. The only annoying thing was there wasn’t a shop very close by which meant that things like water weren’t super easy to come by, but we could get a grab delivery.
