Canto de Agua is an EXPERIENCE, not just a hostel. We can help you with any activity that Jardín offers.
Villa Maria, the coffee farm where the hostel is located, is a colonial-style grand house secluded in a pristine natural setting, away from loud motorcycles, yet a short walk or bike ride away from town if you want to experience the local village life. Villa Maria is the ideal base for the wild adventures that you always wished for, or just to let the sound of the songs of exotic birds help you relax and recharge or chill out in a hammock. Our backyard exits into the surrounding jungle hills and several coffee and banana tree farms. All this and more at the most affordable price in Jardín!
We have several dorms and a private room with shared bathrooms and a dorm with an ensuite bathroom, all with real heated water (not the electric “suicide” shower-heads). There is one communal kitchen inside the property as well as a lounge area to get back in tune with yourself. Enjoy our fair-sized book collection (several languages) and brush up on your Spanish or read books about the beautiful pueblo of Jardin or many other interesting genre and topics. We provide Wi-Fi throughout the building, with double Internet Networks and you can use our desktop computer. A stay in Villa Maria is more than just a night of sleep. It is a home away from home. ** Directions and free shuttle service:
To get to Canto de Agua from the town square, walk up the street next to the right of the church (when facing it), until you reach Calle 13, where you turn right. The street will turn into a dirt road after the first corner, then, walk 2 corners until you reach Carrera 8, where you turn left. Continue walking on this road, about 400 meters and you will see the Canto de Agua sign on your right. We are the charming yellow house and you have reached us!
If you prefer to take a mototaxi (called moto-raton here in Jardin), you can tell them to take you to Canto de Agua - VILLA MARIA- LA HERRERA. This will cost you around 3 000 COP and we will refund you for this one trip.
