I had an amazing time at Madre Salva. The staff was very welcoming and helpful! My phone even had water dammage and they figured out how to help me get it working again. You are in the thick of the jungle so the noises at night are great! Great for the price and i definitely recommend.

Pablo was an incredible owner! He went above and beyond to make sure that I was comfortable. Loved the free coffee in the mornings and the chill, laid back vibe of the hostel. If you want to relax in nature and have a break from the over stimulation of bigger city hostels, this is the perfect spot. It’s a bit of a walk to the main road so just anticipate walking or renting a bike. I read a review saying that the dog was mean but that’s so untrue- she’s lovely.

*confirmed ownership change* A TREASURE in the jungle, 15 min walk to grocery store & beach. 🏝️ Kitchen is amazing & a 2nd kitchen is in the works ( if I understood correctly 😉) Staff has kind presence, someone is always cleaning something. Best smelling sheets at a hostel yet 🙌🏼 I am solo traveling female who enjoys to be around people yet likes a lot of space and quiet private time to journal, do yoga, make nourishing meals, & walk to the beach. 🧘‍♀️ Seating for rain or shine 😎
