Luminosa Uvita

During a spontaneous trip to Uvita, my friend and I made the decision to stay at Luminosa. Be prepared to walk as the hostel is located a noticeable distance from restaurants, shops and the (limited but still mentioneable) social life of the area. The hostel is very simple but gets the job done for a one-night visit/short stay. But there are a few ways this hostel can be made even better including; visible security cameras around the property and better air flow in the room.

Honestly bad… the rooms were so small, only two showers in the whole hostel, staff was not really welcoming nor kind, no keys for the rooms, left it open the whole night ? The smell in the room was really bad. Also pretty far from the nice stuff in Uvita. Yea no I would really not recommend the place. We booked 3 nights but stayed only one and went back to our prior hostel …

As a solo female traveler, the owner made me feel extremely uncomfortable. Im not sure if it were my tattoos that he mentioned or my kindness/vulnerability that made him feel invited to sexualize me, but it was not warranted. He uses conversation of spirituality to try to manipulate you. The “tour” he took me on on his bike was a ploy. He brought me to a secluded river and slyly tried to convince me to take my clothes off. He did not respect my soberness and continued to try to offer me alcohol
