Hostal San Pedro

Echoing other people - hostel was very clean which was nice but the wifi was basically non-existent, which made things quite difficult for us in terms of planning etc. It was unnecessarily bad as we had friends staying in other hostels with perfect WiFi. The small fan also was not at all sufficient to counter the intense heat.

Passable for a short stay. Staff indifferent and uninterested. Showers either scalding hot or very cold, no in-between. Kitchen well-equipped but usually dirty. Rooms very basic, and the window didn't open in the room we stayed in, which is quite a major fault when it's 30° (other rooms' did). Odd atmosphere generally with a constant feeling like you're intruding on the staff's own place. Wouldn't return.

Terrible hostel experience, my personal worst in 4 years. Room wasn’t ready 30 minutes past check in time. I stayed in room 10 which had the smell of smoke piece through from both an air vent to the outside entrance and from within the hostel as the door has gaps that lets in smoke from within the hostels outdoor areas. I asked staff to create no smoking sign as i have allergies, they said yes, but did not. Later went manually with night staff to create one and found removed and hid on desk. 👎
