Azaliya Hostel

Not overly impressed. it's in a bit of a dead zone no restaurants nearby. Reception didn't respond when I arrived, I was let in by another guest. waited ages to check-in. the receptionist was only interested in playing his game. Room wasn't ready/cleaned. cleaner did her job but I wasn't told which bed or room I was in, had to get receptionist out of bed behind reception to find out. Hot shower but it was a very damp smelly bathroom, lock is tricky, door opened n I found someone on the toilet.

Located in a local residential neighbourhood, the hostel is within walking distance of some attractions, while Registan Square is a little further away but still accessible on foot. Restaurant options nearby are limited, though more can be found with a short walk. The hostel has a well-equipped kitchen, paid self laundry service and a nice upstairs seating area. The reception staff could be friendlier and more helpful. Overall, a decent option for a short stay in Samarkand.
