Lemon Tree Hostel Policy and Condition:
Cancellation Policy: 3 days before arrival.In case of a late cancellation or No Show, you will be charged the full night of your stay.
General:
-By completing a booking, the booking holder confirms that they have read and accept these terms and the specific conditions of the rate selected.
-Group bookings are limited to a maximum of 6 guests.
- Before confirming payment, the booking holder must check that the names, dates, type of accommodation and number of guests are correct. Any error must be reported as soon as possible, and any correction will be subject to availability and the conditions of the rate booked.
Consumers and users may request the official complaint and claim forms in paper format at reception. They will also be available electronically through the Hoj@ system of the Regional Government of Andalusia where applicable in accordance with the time limits and requirements of the regulations in force.
Bookings made through an OTA: requests for cancellation or amendment must be processed in accordance with the instructions of the platform used and will be subject to the rate booked.
Direct bookings: requests for cancellation or amendment must be made in accordance with the instructions included in the booking confirmation or by contacting Lemon Tree Hostel directly. Any amendment will be subject to availability and the conditions of the rate booked.
Early departure will not entitle the guest to a refund for unused nights, unless otherwise agreed in writing with the establishment's management.
3. Check-in and check-out
Room access: from 15:00 on the day of arrival.
Check-out: the room must be vacated before 12:00 on the day of departure.
Reception opening hours: Monday to Sunday, from 09:00 to 20:00.
Check-in can be completed in two ways: online or in person at reception.
Check-in:
• Online: this may be completed at any time before arrival. Once completed, from 15:00 on the day of arrival a personal access code will be provided, valid for both the main entrance and the allocated room.
• In-person check-in: this may be completed at reception from 15:00 to 20:00.
Access card: during reception opening hours, guests may request a card if they prefer to use this system.
Arrivals outside reception opening hours: if arrival is expected after 20:00, check-in must be completed online before arriving at the establishment.
All guests must provide the required details from a valid official identity document. For in-person check-in, the document will be visually checked. For online check-in, the details will be verified using the enabled identification procedures, without requesting or retaining a complete copy of the Spanish national identity card (DNI) or passport. If this legal requirement is not properly completed, accommodation may be refused in accordance with the rate booked and applicable law.
Luggage storage is available on request and subject to availability before check-in, during the stay and after check-out.
4. House rules
By staying at Lemon Tree Hostel, all guests agree to comply with the following rules, which are intended to ensure harmonious coexistence, rest and safety.
Quiet hours: from 23:00, noise is not permitted in bedrooms, corridors, the patio or any other area of the establishment, and headphones must be used in shared dormitories.
Smoking: smoking is strictly prohibited in bedrooms, bathrooms and all indoor communal areas. Smoking is permitted only in the outdoor patio, where cigarette ends must be placed in the ashtrays provided. Smoking indoors will result in immediate removal from the establishment without entitlement to a refund and, where it gives rise to an extraordinary cost, the reasonable and evidenced costs of cleaning and deodorising may be charged to the card associated with the booking. A penalty of up to €250 may be imposed.
Alcohol: alcohol may not be consumed in the dormitories. It may be consumed responsibly in the kitchen, lounge and patio until 23:00.
Visitors: external visitors are not permitted in the dormitories or communal areas for reasons of safety and harmonious coexistence. Access is restricted to registered guests.
Food and shared spaces: food must be consumed in the kitchen or patio, never in the dormitories. The kitchen, bathrooms and lounge must be left clean and tidy after use. Lemon Tree Hostel does not sell or supply food. Each guest is responsible for purchasing, identifying, storing, preparing and consuming their own food and may not use or consume another person's food without their permission. The establishment is not liable for illness, allergic reactions, food poisoning or other harm arising from food brought in by the guest where the cause is attributable to the guest's choice, storage, handling, preparation or consumption of that food.
Kitchen hours: cooking is not permitted after 23:00, out of respect for other guests' rest.
Water and energy: lights must be switched off when leaving the room. Air conditioning is centrally controlled at temperatures set in accordance with applicable regulations.
Security and access: access codes and cards are personal and must not be shared with third parties. Dormitory doors and lockers must be kept closed. Communal areas are covered by CCTV to protect guests, staff and the premises.
Pets: pets are not permitted, except for duly accredited assistance dogs, whose access is guaranteed in accordance with applicable law.
Illegal substances and dangerous conduct: possession or use of illegal drugs, violence, harassment or any conduct that endangers other people or the premises may result in the immediate termination of the stay and the matter being reported to the police.
Management may refuse access or terminate a stay where a guest's conduct seriously breaches these rules or puts their own safety, the safety of others or the establishment at risk. Any financial consequences will be determined according to the rate booked, the circumstances of the case and applicable law. In the event of removal from the premises, the guest will be allowed to collect their belongings before leaving the establishment.
5. Towels and bed linen
Bed linen is included in the price of the stay.
Each guest will find a towel on their allocated bunk.
At the end of the stay, the towel must be returned by placing it in the designated basket located at the entrance. If the towel is not returned or is missing, a charge of €9 will apply.
6. Damage, charges and removal of property
Guests must take care of the furniture, equipment and facilities and report to reception any damage or breakage occurring during their stay.
Where a guest causes significant damage requiring extraordinary cleaning, repair or replacement, or fails to return or removes without authorisation any property belonging to the hostel, the actual and evidenced cost may be charged to the card associated with the booking. The booking holder will be informed of the reason for, amount of and justification for the charge.
Serious intentional damage or deliberate theft of property may be reported to the police.
7. Guest belongings and liability
Each bunk has a private locker for the guest's personal use. We recommend keeping the locker secured with a padlock. Each guest must bring their own padlock or, if they do not have one, may purchase one at reception during opening hours, from 09:00 to 20:00.
Lemon Tree Hostel is not responsible for the loss, theft of or damage to personal belongings left in bedrooms, communal areas or lockers.
The establishment's liability will be governed by the applicable Spanish consumer protection legislation. To the extent permitted by law, it will not extend to indirect losses arising from circumstances beyond the establishment's reasonable control, such as missed connections or changes to travel plans.
8. Age requirements
The booking holder must be at least 18 years old. Bookings made by minors are not accepted.
Guests under the age of 18 must remain accompanied by their mother, father or legal guardian throughout the stay and may not be the booking holder.
Babies aged 0 to 2 years may stay free of charge in the private quadruple room when accompanied by their mother, father or legal guardian.
9. Force majeure
Lemon Tree Hostel will not be liable for the impossibility or interruption of a service caused by events beyond its reasonable control, such as fires, floods, extreme weather events, strikes, public health emergencies or actions by the authorities. Each situation will be handled in accordance with applicable law, the rate booked and the specific circumstances, without prejudice to consumers' mandatory rights.
10. Data protection
Málaga Hostel Lemon Tree S.L. will process the personal data collected during booking, payment and check-in in accordance with applicable law and the Privacy Policy available on the Lemon Tree Hostel website. Processing will include the data necessary to manage the stay and comply with the legal obligations to register and report guest data, including those set out in Royal Decree 933/2021.
Communal areas are covered by CCTV for security purposes. Images will be processed in accordance with the Privacy Policy and retained only for the period legally permitted.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms will be governed by Spanish law. Any dispute arising from a booking or stay will be submitted to the competent courts and tribunals of Málaga in accordance with applicable law, while in all cases respecting consumers' mandatory rights.
