To my astonishment upon arrival I was asked for a £100 refundable ‘Deposit’ in addition to the room fee. This has never happened to me before in 50 years of using hostels and hotels. I understand that in some hotels there is an opportunity to preauthorise a card to cover the bar, restaurant or room service but this Park Hotel dump had no bar or anything to spend £100 upon. The rude Asian staff did not explain what the £100 was for and it took several days to get the £100 back. NEVER go here!

After arriving at Park Hotel I was told I was going to be moved to a different hotel. It was explained to me why, but there was commotion in the lobby so I didn't understand. I had the opportunity to find out after the fact, but truthfully I didn't care. I ended up at Lucky 8 Hotel. Which was awesome. It is literally like 2 blocks from the underground station. Everything was fine. Nothing was outstanding and nothing was poor. It was perfectly mediocre. The free breakfast is also great!
