Privatley owned and managed by its owner Stephen, the main hostel building was built in 1832 and is a national heritage building . Located in a wonderful position away from the hustle of the new town but convenient for the Gondola & ski zone.

The hostel is in the original old village square of Bansko, the perfect location for summer or winter sport visitors. The hostel is within a short walking distance of bars and restaurants. . For guests preferring to cook themselves a small kitchen/community room is available exclusively for hostel guests. Bed & Breakfast rate available.

The house has 2 four bed dorms and a six bed dorm located in the main house. There is a small garden cottage which as two private en suite rooms & a small single/double in the wooden house

Walking time to the Gondola approximately 15 minutes, boots and equipment can be left close to the gondola. We can help with discounted equipment hire during the winter and recomend transfer companies from Sofia airport email for more details.

Le Retro Hostel in Bansko is an amazing place to stay! The owner is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. The location is great, close to everything you need, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The kitchen doesn’t have much equipment, but there are plenty cheap restaurants around. The breakfast is delicious, and the overall price-quality ratio is excellent. It’s a fantastic choice for anyone visiting Bansko, and I highly recommend!

The host is great, location is pretty good if you don’t mind a little walk to the gondola, located in the old town which looks really nice. All the basics you need. The only thing I would recommend is to add some good locks to the bathrooms…

Very nice hostel with friendly owner!! It was quiet in the hostel because of the summer period, but Bansko is a great place for hiking as well. Safety might be increased a bit by installing locks on the bathroom in the dorm and the dorm itself, however I didn’t feel unsafe at any moment. When in Bansko, I would stay here again!
