we booked a nicer double room and got put into a dingy, tiny, dirty room the first night. when we asked to be moved to the room we paid for, none of the staff spoke english and they wanted us to pay more for the room wed already paid for. luckly a really kind guy who owns the restaurant 2 doors down spoke english and helped us to get the room we paid for by translating for us. we were put into the right room which was a LOT nicer/cleaner and it was a good stay.

The room was very basic, without even a window which wasn't my favorite, but for the price it was fine. It had A/C which was an absolute necessity for me as I was NOT used to Guayaquil's heat and humidity, the bed was very comfortable, the front door was typically locked so it felt very safe, and the location was ridiculously good for me. Right at the entrance of the Malecon 2000 where La Perla Ferris wheel is located. Close enough to walk to Santa Ana, spend many hours at the Malecon, walk to so many parks
