Sundsvall City Hotel

The Sundsvall City Hotel is perfectly situated on walking distance from the train station, major bus stop and all city center amenities. Located in a beautiful, classic building the age of the amenities is a waste of something so pretty. We felt safe, late check-in was a breeze, staff was very friendly and all amenities are clean, but the rooms, bathrooms and corridors are seriously due for a renovation to warrant the nightly price. It does have the teenytiniest elevator I've ever encountered.

The staff were absolutely excellent. The location is also excellent, & you couldn't get a better location. The cleanliness was dismal. It smelt of so much cigarette smoke, I couldn't sleep. The curtain was dusty, when I pulled it shut for the night the room was filled with dust & smelt of old urine. The shower curtain had rust & mould over it, & old bits of hair in the shower- I couldn't shower. The kitchen looked dismal & not clean. I cut my trip short after 1 night (I booked 3) & went elsewhe

Sundsvall City Hostel is in an excellent location in downtown Sundsvall within easy walking distance to the train station and the town's handful of tourist sights. The hostel is a little rundown and has some maintenance issues that need to be addressed, but my room was clean and the breakfast was good. Nothing fancy, but perfectly fine for an overnight stay.
