La Terraza De Estella

Had a great stay here, wonderful view from the terrace, really nice staff.

The host was very kind and friendly, however, we felt that this listing was misrepresented in the description and photos. We do NOT like leaving bad reviews, but we feel it’s important for people to know that the location is in a part of town that is not as described. There was trash everywhere, broken down buildings and side walks, and we unfortunately did not feel very safe walking around - night OR day (we are two women). We have a lot of respect for the difference in cultures, and ways of life in different parts of the world, and at the same time, there are touristy areas for a reason. This is not a touristy area by any means. The photos made the pool look much bigger than it was. It was the size of a small hot tub. After the first night, we told them we felt unsafe, and asked for a refund, which they denied. All this aside, the room was clean, matched the photos and had working aircon within certain hours which was really great.

The hostal was tremendous value for money and a great place to stay. Yes, you do have to take a taxi into town but that's cheap and straightforward. The area felt safe and I walked to various restaurants in the dark without any issue. My only frustration with the property is that the A/C is only switched on between 9pm and 8am. This important information I could not find at all when booking so further transparency is needed there.
