The Animal Hostel

Welcome to The Animal Hostel - Ideal for animal lovers and solo travellers, we offer you a perfect spot to explore the countryside, make friends, relax and feel at home.
We are a social hostel, located in Nottinghamshire.

Set in the grounds of a Georgian manor house built in the 1700s, offering a cosy social lounge, fully equipped kitchen, outdoor balcony, co-working space and indoor dining area.

On-site we have approximately 20 rescued animals to include cows, sheep, cats, dogs and (a lot of) horses. All our animals require a lot of care and attention and if you would like to help us with this we have daily activities such as grooming the cows and horses, walking the dogs, and keeping the paddocks clean. We also love for our guests to just spend time with them and give them cuddles and company.

Please note our dogs and cats are frequently inside the hostel.

We also have a wider range of group activities such as movie nights, pub walks (with animals in tow!), family dinners, day trips etc but these are subject to demand.

The village of Thurgarton is well connected via public transport and can be accessed by bus or train.
The 26 bus departs from Stop V4 outside Victoria centre in Nottingham and takes approximately 35 minutes.
Alternatively the train to Thurgarton runs from both Nottingham station and Newark Castle, taking approximately 20 minutes, followed by a 10 minute walk.

The Animal Hostel Policy and Conditions:

• SELF CHECKIN: The Front door code will be shared in your confirmation email.
• Please ensure your arrival time is between 12NOON - 11 PM. Arrival outside of these hours is not allowed.
• Check in to rooms is from 12NOON - 11PM
• Check out before 12 NOON

We have a bunch of free stuff for you:

• FREE breakfast cereal (bring your own milk)
• FREE coffee, Tea & sugar
• FREE towels and hairdryer to borrow
• FREE games and books
• FREE use of washing machine and dryer - subject to availability.

RULES:

• We ask that guests do NOT feed the animals.
