Hello! We are a family from Moyogalpa, and we would be delighted to welcome you to Hostal y Mirador La Chaguita.

Our hostel was born from the dream of two brothers who wanted to open the doors of their home and share the beauty and tranquillity of Isla de Ometepe with travellers from all over the world. The name “La Chaguita” is a tribute to our grandmother Rosaura, who was lovingly known by this nickname in the village.

If you are looking for an authentic experience, this is the ideal place. We are surrounded by nature, away from the noise, yet only 1 km from the port of Moyogalpa and very close to supermarkets, restaurants, banks, and other services.

From our viewpoint, you can enjoy one of the most beautiful sunsets in Ometepe. In the mornings, you will wake up to birdsong, and you will often hear or see monkeys in the nearby trees.

We offer shared dormitories for backpackers, groups of friends, and families, as well as a private room for couples. We also provide a fully equipped communal kitchen so you can prepare your meals whenever you wish.

We can help you organise your adventure on the island with:

• Tours around Ometepe
• Guided hikes to the volcanoes
• Motorcycle, scooter, and bicycle rentals

In addition, from the hostel you will be able to see our family banana plantation and learn a little about the daily life of a local family.
