Aangan by Gokarma Living

Aangan means courtyard, and that's how the place feels: a shared space where baby backpackers and young-at-heart veterans slow down and get to know each other over soulful food, late night life stories and light hearted banter.

We are a laid-back hostel and Cafe on Kudle hilltop in Gokarna, set inside an acre of tropical forest. Kudle Beach, the local market and Jatayu Cliff are a few minutes away and Mahabaleshwar Temple is about a 7-minute walk. The Spot is a good base for beach treks, temple visits and sunset walks.

The cafe is the heart of it all. It's where you'll eat, hang out over card and board games, and wait out an early arrival with WiFi. Choose a dorm bed, a tent or a private room, all tucked behind the cafe and sharing clean common washrooms. Towels are available to rent, and there's a store room for your bags.

Evenings bring film nights, board games, walking tours and hikes for anyone who wants to see more of Gokarna. Our staff speak English and Hindi and are always happy to help you plan your days.

Good to know
- Aangan is for guests aged 18 to 35.
- Check-in from 12 PM, check-out by 10 AM. Early check-in and late check-out depend on availability.
- The cafe is open 9 AM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 10 PM.
- Drinking is fine in the outdoor areas, but not inside rooms, dorms or tents, and outside alcohol isn't allowed.
- There are no lockers, so bring a padlock for your things.
- Free cancellation up to 7 days before check-in.
