Nestled at 3,100 meters (10,170 ft) in the true Colombian Andes, our Basecamp is your launchpad to the extreme 3,800m Toquilla Paramo. This is not a regular hostel. We are a remote, rustic, and challenging mountain refuge designed for real explorers. If you are looking for city comforts, this is not for you. Here, you will find mud, fog, freezing paramo winds, and the most epic, untouched landscapes in Colombia. Are you ready for the Toquilla Challenge?

THE REFUGE: YOUR WARM BASECAMP
After a brutal day of trekking, our basecamp is your sanctuary. Gather around our indoor wood-burning stove, cook a hearty meal in our fully equipped communal kitchen, and share stories with fellow hikers. You will be welcomed by our rescue mountain dog, Tony, and our resident cat, Roma, who usually claims the warmest spot by the fire. It’s raw on the outside, but pure home on the inside.

THE PURPOSE: EQUINE SANCTUARY
By staying with us, you are directly funding our social project. Our basecamp is home to our rescue horse herd. Join our ethical 'Rescue Horse Experience' to help groom, feed, and bond with these magnificent survivors.

THE ACTION: UNCHARTED TREKKING
Forget the crowded tourist trails. Our local expert guides will take you deep into the uncharted Toquilla Paramo. Choose between our Sunrise Paramo Trek, extreme survival hikes, or an ice-cold plunge in hidden high-altitude lakes.

⚠️ THE REALITY CHECK (PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING):

CASH ONLY: We are extremely remote. There are NO ATMs here. Bring enough cash for your entire stay and tours.

ALTITUDE & COLD: Our basecamp sits at 3,100m, and our treks reach up to 3,800m. It gets freezing at night. We provide heavy thermal blankets, but bring proper winter clothing.

FACILITIES: We operate with a shared bathroom and a strict hot-water protocol to ensure everyone gets a warm shower after the mountain.
