Localization is nice. Very good communal area, good room, although a bit noisy. I didn't find the place very secure, we did the Wine Tram during the day and when we arrived in the evening, there was a lot of cars in the lodge, people that surely weren't guests. Be aware that they accept only payment in cash, we weren't prepared for that. Also, I didn't know about loading shed issue in SA, so be prepared for power energy cut in certain hours of the day.

Great hostel, Lovely location by the river and very close to the centre of the town yet still feels isolated. This is not to mention the lovely staff members, the only problem was the Hot water lasted about 3 minutes, but besides that cannot fault it.

We stayed in the winter (late July) and it was extremely cold in the rooms and there are no heaters. The shower was only cold (after running for ~5 mins). The bed was two singles pushed together and fell apart from one another so not ideal for a couple. We also had dirt marks on the sheets, not sure if these were stains or fresh dirt marks but not super comforting.
