About Mykonos
So, you’re thinking of jet-setting off to a Greek paradise and you’ve decided that Mykonos (we don’t blame you) is the place for you! Majestically located in the Aegean Sea, you’ll be immersed in party and beach paradise. Super Trouper!
Our youth hostels in Mykonos will be making you shout ‘Mamma Mia’ at their irresistible locations and traditional Greek vibes. With hostels starting at under 10 pounds we’re sure you’ll be able to find a hostel in Mykonos that fits both your budget and travel preferences. For prime sunbathing potential, choose a hostel with a huge outdoor swimming pool overlooking the turquoise sea. Or how about one in a classic whitewashed building with stunning private rooms with balconies? There’s even a hostel with modern cocoon-style beds for maximum dorm comfort.
You’ll find Mykonos hostels scattered around offering different experiences in different locations. Living up to Mykonos’s reputation as ‘Greece’s party island’ you’ll find some of the best hostels in Mykonos centrally located right by the beach and party. Giving you the ultimate night out with your potential hostel just a few steps (stumbles) away from the party. Never fear, if you’d prefer to be further out from the party scene we also have a few hostels in Mykonos that we’re sure will tickle your fancy.
During your time in Mykonos one of the islands’ most insta-famous sites, yes, we’re talking about the windmills in Chora, should be on your list, especially to watch the sunset and get that golden hour selfie. A trip to Little Venice, a colourful neighbourhood built on the edge of the sea, can’t be missed either. You’ll find seaside houses transformed into playful bars and restaurants that offer boastful sunset views. Shop until you drop with famous designer labels, jewellery shops and the traditional tourist products and souvenirs. Whilst you’re in town be sure to take a trip to Delos, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is considered one of the most important Archaeological sites in Greece. It goes without saying but be sure to check out the pristine beaches and churches scattered throughout the island, word on the street is there are almost 800 churches and chapels!
The most convenient mode of transport around the island is Taxi because it allows you to visit multiple places quickly and easily. Taxis on the island are a bit different to what you might be used to, expect a fixed rate for the destination you’re going to and the time of year you’re travelling in. Alternatively, exploring Mykonos via foot is another great option to get to know the town and its inner quirks. The cheapest form of transport is the bus. There are two main stations, the North and South station, that service the most popular villages and all-time favourite beaches. You can also choose to travel by boat to beaches around the island, plus if you want the quickest form of transport then consider hiring a bike or motorcycle.
