Property Description

There is a great range of accommodation options to suit you including dorm beds, private cabins, glamping and some wicked camping sites. We can book in activities around the area, arranging free transport for you to get where you need to be.

We have a food truck (open in summer months) large outdoor decking, multiple BBQ areas, movie rooms right at the start of the Abel tasman. Yoga classes are coming back this summer and we have set up the vegi garden beside our Native Tree Nursery! Being off grid we work closely to reduce our impact and have recently signed onto The Marahau Pledge, creating positive outcomes for our little village including our net zero position.

We also have movie and reading rooms so there is space to unwind as well as the communal kitchens and dinning rooms to meet some new people and explore the area.

We also aim to help you make the best decisions about things to do in the area. We organise water taxis, kayaking, sailing trips into the park as well as guided walking tours, seal/penguin watching, canyoning, caving, sky diving, hand gliding, microlight flight and more. We will organise transport for you, so you can be picked up from The Barn!

Fabulous

we came in winter so it was pretty deserted but I can tell it would be a super cool vibe in the summer. Everything was indoor outdoor so going to the bathroom cold at night wasn’t the most pleasant but not bad at all. The rooms were super warm and clean. Can’t wait to come back in summer.

brilliant hostel right at the start of the Abel Tasman coast track. We stayed in a cabin which felt very cosy. There was plenty of space for bags and clothes, and a well equipped kitchen with space for food and drink. The coffee at reception was delicious and a nice touch. The staff at reception were really friendly and helped us to book a day tour to walk and kayak in the national park. A brilliant hostel! Take some ear plugs as the weka can be a little noisy at night.
