Summary of traveller reviews

El Pital Chocolate Paradise in Ometepe Island offers a tranquil jungle escape with stunning lake views. Guests praise the delicious, albeit pricey, vegan food and the unique chocolate experiences. While the natural setting is beautiful, be prepared for insects. It's ideal for those seeking relaxation rather than a social atmosphere.

After seeing the many online reviews listing El Pital as a must for visitors to Ometepe, I was unfortunately disappointed by my stay. The location allows for easy swims, room was clean, & the staff were friendly. However, prices are very high, chocolate was overrated (sour), no hangout areas for guests & for the conscious traveller, El Pital is Israeli-owned and frequented, with no indication of opposing the ongoing geno… For the money, there are better options (Urraca Loca, Café Campestre)

Really nice hostel, only thing was the driveway/walk to the hostel was really long with no lighting which was a bit of a concern being solo. The toilets were always very clean however the showers could be better maintained. I only tried the chocolate passionfruit cheesecake at the restaurant which came out almost frozen solid. Staff really helpful, beds comfy. Could do with aircon

So this was a really nice stay but it wasn’t hostel like at all, like it felt way more like a resort with older families and people, so I would recommend to go for a little to chill but don’t expect the hangout typical for a hostel.
