Happiness comes in waves at Kabalana Surf Hostel, your beachfront base camp on Sri Lanka’s stunning south coast, located right in front of “The Rock” - one of the country’s best and most consistent surf breaks.

With front-row seats to some of the most spectacular sunsets on the south coast, there’s no better place to unwind. Watch the moonlight shimmer across the ocean at night, then wake to the sound of the waves at sunrise. Grab your board, step onto the sand, and be in the lineup within seconds of rolling out of bed.

SURF WITH US
Surf lessons for every level (from LKR 8,000 per 2-hour session), multi-day surf packages and board hire. Beginners are welcome – our instructors will get you up and riding.

WHAT'S ON
Unlimited pizza night every Wednesday, beach bonfires, movie nights, boat trips and visits to the local turtle rescue centre – there's always something happening when the sun goes down.

ROOMS
Choose from two social dorms (beds with privacy curtains and air-conditioning) or a range of private rooms – double rooms with street or ocean views, ocean-view family rooms (with two king beds for up to 4 guests) and our top-floor villa with 3 king beds (up to 6 guests).

EAT, DRINK, RELAX
Our restaurant, bar and café keep you fuelled between sessions, and the garden, deck and sun loungers are made for doing absolutely nothing. Ahangama town is a 6-minute tuk-tuk ride away, and the bus stop is just outside.
