Summary of traveller reviews

Patagonia Hostel in El Chaltén is praised for its friendly and helpful staff, and its excellent location, perfect for hikers. The atmosphere is social and welcoming, with clean communal areas and good kitchen facilities. Some guests found the rooms a bit small and noted that noise can be an issue due to thin walls, especially if located near the kitchen.

The hostel was great. The staff was friendly and it was very clean. The only thing was our room was right by the kitchen which is open from 6am-11pm, the walls are very thin and it was quite loud the nights we stayed & people were also up very early for their hikes so we did not get a lot of sleep. As long as you bring ear plugs though it would be fine I’m sure.

This hostel is cute and in a great location. The staff were friendly and helpful, and everything was clean and well maintained. However, it’s outrageously expensive for what you get. $63 USD for a dorm bed. Rooms are very small, especially with hiking gear, making them feel cramped and lacking privacy. There are no curtains or outlets at your bed. Breakfast costs $20,000, and you can’t have a coffee or tea unless you pay for the full breakfast, which was disappointing given the cost of a bed.

Hostel has multiple small communal areas, some of which are right outside rooms making for noise. Walls are paper thin - ypu can hearing snoring in the adjacent rooms for example so even a private room doesn't guarantee some quiet unfortunately. Beds are very firm and not particularly comfortable compared to other hostels I've used in argentina. Its in a good location with plenty of eateries close and near to trail heads.
