You will find us right in the center of Madrid, where all the cool stuff happens. We stand out from the rest: we have 15 years of experience in helping you vibe with our city. If you are looking to discover the daily frenzy of Madrid and the wild side and people to enjoy it with, Cats Hostel Madrid Sol is your best choice.
From our door, you can easily reach the city's most famous sites, like the beautiful Plaza Mayor, the lively Puerta del Sol, or the world-famous Prado Museum. And after a long day of exploring, there's nothing like arriving to our recently renovated and perfectly prepared facilities for a good rest.
We have a wide variety of common areas for relaxing and socializing with other travellers. You can lie down on our comfortable sofas, watch a movie in the Red Room, or try our own Cats craft beer in our bar... The building will leave you speechless. It was once a 17th-century Spanish palace and still retains its Andalusian patio style.
The rooms are comfortable, functional and prepared for 21st-century travellers, with personal lockers, reading lights, and power and USB outlets. You can choose between shared dormitories from 4 to 12 beds or book your own private room!
And what can we say about our activities? If we have to describe us in a few words, we would say we are a very social hostel. Our most popular activities are the city walking tour, thematic parties, and, of course, our famous pub crawl. Every night, we visit the best bars in the center for the perfect moment to meet other travellers and mix with the locals. But there's even more: depending on the season and the day, we will have karaoke nights, dance lessons, stand up comedies and much more! The hard thing won't be choosing what to do, but what not to do!
We offer a breakfast buffet for only for 7 euros, and we have towels to rent for 5 euros. Free Wi-Fi is available in the entire hostel. On departure day, we have secure luggage storage where bags can be left for 2 euros all day, while you get your last tastes of the city!
Our reception is open 24/7, and we will be happy to help you with any of your requests. We are not just a place to sleep, we are a whole travel experience! Our guests agree that our central location, comfortable beds, and a vibrant party atmosphere will leave you wanting more!

Great hostel, being my first time staying in a hostel I'm glad it was at CATS, there was a really good friendly vibe and the staff at CATS were very helpful. The evenings in the bar were an ideal place to connect with fellow travellers and activities like the bar crawl helped to brake the ice and get you out to see the nightlife ariund Madrid and burn the candle at both ends. As a solo traveller, I would definitely recommend and stay here again!

Great hostel, however a lot of inconsiderate dorm guests on my final night playing loud music and speaking loudly on there phones in the room, didn’t care that i asked them to go outside and carried on, room 107 ( night of 24th Jan)

Definitely a hardcore party hostel. Met tons of great people, but if you're not into drinking all night every night, this may not be the place for you!

Our 17th-century Andalusian/Moorish patio definitely sets us apart from other hostels in Madrid. We're the only hostel in the city with its own nightclub, plus we've got free Wi-Fi, air conditioning and more. We're located in the centre of Old Madrid, just one minute from Madrid's best nightlife, which we highly recommend to all our guests. A five-minute walk from the hostel will bring you to Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor. I especially recommend Puerta del Sol if you're looking for the best shopping area.
Our hostel is ideally suited for travellers looking to have a good time and get to know people from all over the world, while at the same time enjoying maximum comfort and competitive prices.
