Max was a very kind and knowledgeable host. As we understand, Agra is not known for great accomodations so we felt lucky to have somewhere safe and clean. However, the rooms were smaller and less new than the photos and were slightly damp in December, the facilities (like the en suite) weren't great and the breakfast was a bit cold. It was a solid option for a one night stay but I'm unsure we would stay longer. Max is definitely a good host, though.

Max is a terrific host, as others have attested to. If you're visiting India for the first time I'd strongly encourage you to stay with him, he helps with everything (food, pharmacy, trains etc!).
