Welcome to Silver Sand Placencia - a gem surrounded by the natural beauty of Placencia. Located near the end of the peninsula, the hostel is just steps from the Caribbean Sea, offering easy access to both the everlasting beach and the vibrant heart of the peninsula.

This small hostel consist of four brightly colored cabanas, and brings a combination of rustic, charming, and laid-back vibes with a touch of moderate comfort. Whether you’re lounging in the hammocks or under the shady gazebo, it’s a perfect spot to relax, meet fellow travelers, or engage in card games.

Silver Sand offers a cozy heartwarming feel with mixed dormitory dorms, air-conditioned dorms (from 6pm to 8am), and non-AC dorms to suit various preferences and budgets. Each cabana sleeps 4 persons and has bunk beds, small drawer lockers for personal items, and an ensuite bathroom. Daily housekeeping starts at 10am.

We offer several amenities that cater to our guests, such as free bicycles and a fully equipped kitchen for meal prep right from the hostel’s backyard. Be sure to ask for recommendations for the best cafes, restaurants, sightseeing, and tour shops to ensure you have an unbelizeable experience!

Arrived at the hostel and there was no staff, I was told by other travelers that the owners were out of town. I tried calling and they said they would send someone over to check me in. 30 mins later no one shows up, I call again and a different person answers the phone and says he doesn't have my reservation and the place is fully booked. He asked me to Whatsapp message him my reservation number and he would figure it out. He never read my message so I had to find a different accommodation.

There to let me into the room. I didnt have whatsapp or wifi calling. After 3 hr a bar waitress called and I talked to a dude who gave me the code for the electric door lock. a chick came by the next day to collect. I FINALLY got the wifi password and a towel. I was lucky inasmuch as I got a 4 bed dorm with bath all to myself. Was supposed to be air conditioned. Chick said no AC. They need to get their service act together!

Paid for 3nts air condition dorm, however by day 2 the remote had not been provided and when I asked, the host said he didn't know where it was. I emailed the owners and never heard back. On the 3rd day, the host brought the remote. Requested a refund for the increased cost but no response. Not great for solo travellers - very quiet, very few people around. Host was friendly but made me uncomfortable by hitting on me. Appreciated the provided towel. Privacy curtains would be a welcome addition.
