Ritz Backpackers is finally re-opening with a face lift including all new bunk beds with privacy curtains, charger points, bed light and fan! As well as well kept Double and Twin Rooms for those who want extra privacy!

Plus, you get free wifi, a large communal kitchen, common area with pool table and a communal outdoor terrace. Guests also receive discounts on our awesome new Sports bar and grill called Harvey’s located just downstairs.

I would not recommend to backpackers looking for a short, social stay. Most guests seem to be long-term workers. NO ALCOHOL rule kills a lot of social potential and makes you feel like a teenager. During the week there is very little happening. The double private room is cramped, the street is very loud. Showers are tiny, awkward, and often a wait in the morning even in low season. Kitchen was usable, but no shared oil/ seasonings, no coffee, fridges packed solid. WiFi sucked.

Great location and friendly staff. Perfect for backpackers who want to be close to St Kilda and want a good social life. Not as crazy as Nomads but still lots happening. I came in winter so maybe summer would be slightly too busy for me, still a great spot to meet new people
